English clock from 1930s. Certainly, VERY art deco. As to the provenance, it’s based on the clock appearance and the inscription “Baker Wigar” on the clock’s face. Poking around a bit it would seem to suggest that it originates from a shop in Wigar, UK. The clock has been fully checked, repaired, and oiled (keeping the Oxford comma here, what with the English theme). Not by me – but by a master clocksmith. Keeps very good time. Has a key and a pendulum, natch. Chimes every quarter hour and strikes on the hour. Nice, clean Westminster melody. Some light scratches, mostly on the back. Otherwise, superb condition for its age. The glass is clear and free from defects. The item “1930s ART DECO ENGLISH BAKER WIGAR MANTLE WESTMINSTER CLOCK CHIMES AND STRIKES” is in sale since Friday, January 22, 2021.
